WSP is seeking an Experienced Substation Structural Engineer for our Power Delivery Civil/Structural Group. Positions are available in Ann Arbor, MI and other locations, with design work across steel structures, foundations, and bus supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of post-education engineering experience with structural or civil design.
• Engineer in Training Certification (EIT).
• Knowledge of structural/civil design principles and applicable standards.
• Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and meet requirements.
• Familiarity with sustainability concepts and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in technical writing and documentation; able to prepare reports.
• Experience with design software listed in Tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for planning, analysis, design, and delivery of structural solutions for substations.
• Assist with research, concept development, and construction of load-bearing structures and foundations.
• Prepare accurate reports and documentation on materials, installations, and specifications.
• Contribute to modeling, design requirements, and operation strategies for safe, functional structures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentors junior staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and technical standards; support HASPs.
• Develop and scope small- to medium-sized projects; present findings to stakeholders.
