Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility design/review experience. The role emphasizes leading design reviews for civil/structural components, mentoring junior staff, and delivering bid/construction packages.

The candidate should hold a PE license (SE preferred), and be proficient in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, AutoCAD and MicroStation, with strong writing and communication skills. Occasional travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 3+ years
PE license required; SE licensure preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10 and LPile
AutoCAD and MicroStation familiarity; strong analytical and writing skills; team player

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews of substation civil/structural components and support bid/construction packages
Serve as senior engineer leading projects, performing design reviews and mentoring junior staff
Coordinate with clients and staff; perform site visits to substations; travel as needed
Ensure designs comply with industry codes and standards under seismic loading conditions
