Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility industry to design and review steel/concrete structures, foundations, and related components for substation projects. The role focuses on leading design reviews, guiding junior staff, and interfacing with clients and project teams.

Preferred candidates hold a PE license; SE licensure is a plus. Travel to client sites and industry events may be required, with a strong emphasis on quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years (or 3+ with MS).
PE license required; SE licensure preferred.
Experience using structural analysis software: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills; effective team player and client communicator.

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Serve as senior engineer leading projects and mentoring junior staff.
Coordinate site visits, client meetings, and industry events; ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
