Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility industry to lead design reviews and develop junior staff. The ideal candidate will hold a BS in Civil-Structural Engineering and a PE license, with experience in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and RISA 3D.

Site visits and occasional travel to client facilities are expected. The role requires strong analytical and writing skills, and familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.

Qualifications

BS in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience
PE License required
SE licensure preferred
Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software, required
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects
Lead projects and develop junior staff
Travel to client sites for meetings and site visits
Ensure work conforms to codes, standards, and project schedules
