Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years of utility-industry experience to lead design reviews and guide junior staff. The role focuses on steel/concrete structures, foundations, geotechnical elements, and seismic design per industry standards.

The ideal candidate holds a BS (or MS) in Civil-Structural Engineering with a PE license; SE is preferred. Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile, AutoCAD and MicroStation is required, with willingness

Qualifications

BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
PE license required; SE licensure preferred.
Experience reviewing substation structure design and foundations.
Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile; AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills; client communication abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews for civil/structural components of substation projects.
Develop junior staff and supervise design efforts.
Perform reviews of structures, foundations, and seismic design under industry codes.
Conduct site visits to client substation facilities and travel as needed.
