Job summary

Leidos Engineering seeks a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews, oversee project teams, and mentor junior staff. The role involves evaluating steel and concrete structures, foundations, and seismic designs for bid/construction packages, with travel to client sites.

Strong background in structural analysis, professional licensure preferred, and familiarity with major design tools is required.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience.
PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain licensure within 3-12 months.
SE licensure is preferred.
Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required.
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software, required.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Perform design reviews and lead projects while developing junior staff.
Support bid/construction package development with structural/ foundation insights.
Occasional site visits to client substations and travel for meetings/events.
