Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and projects for substations. You will mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with industry codes, design standards, and seismic requirements.

Preferred locations include Orlando, FL or anywhere in Florida, with secondary options in Atlanta, GA, Durham, NC, or Houston, TX. Willingness to travel and site visits are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE License is required.
• SE licensure is preferred.
• Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Mathcad.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, LPile.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Lead projects and develop junior staff.
• Conduct design engineering and reviews for substation structures and foundations to codes and seismic standards.
• Travel to client sites and participate in client meetings as needed.
