Leidos Engineering is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in the utility sector to lead design reviews and project teams for substation structures and foundations.

The role involves developing bid/construction packages, ensuring compliance with codes under seismic loading, and traveling to client sites for meetings and site visits as needed. Strong writing and client communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PE License required
• SE licensure is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software, required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components for substation projects
• Lead projects and develop junior staff within the design team
• Develop bid/construction packages and ensure scope, schedule, and budget compliance
• Site-visits to client substations and occasional travel for meetings
