Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer in the United States with 5+ years in utility design. You will lead design reviews, oversee projects, and mentor junior staff, focusing on steel, concrete, foundations and seismic design for substation facilities.

Preferred locations include Orlando, FL or Atlanta, GA; travel to client sites and industry events. A BS or MS in civil-structural engineering with PE is required; SE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE licensure preferred.
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile.
• AutoCAD and MicroStation familiarity required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills; team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Perform design reviews and develop junior staff; ensure codes under seismic loading.
• Site-visits to client substations and travel to meetings/industry events.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers and drafting staff to produce bid/construction packages.
