Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with 5+ years in utility design, leading projects and performing design reviews of steel, concrete structures, and foundations. Travel to client sites and industry events is expected, with emphasis on seismic design and code compliance.

The role requires PE licensure, familiarity with structural software, and strong writing and communication skills for client interactions. Orlando/Florida or nearby locations strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PE License required
• SE licensure is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software, required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components for substation projects
• Lead projects and develop junior staff
• Travel to client sites and industry events as needed
