Job summary

North Houston Pole Line LP (NHPL), a Quanta Services, Inc. subsidiary, seeks a Project Manager to lead high-voltage substation construction projects in our transmission operations.

You will manage the full lifecycle from kickoff through energization and closeout, with emphasis on safety, schedule, and client relations. The role requires 5+ years in substation PM, full ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and change management, and strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing high-voltage substation construction (transmission line PM acceptable).
• Full ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and change management.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Builds schedules, baselines, and cost reports; understands critical path.
• Owns budgets, forecasting, and subcontract/change-order processes.
• Client-facing leadership and ability to drive resolutions in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation construction projects from kickoff through energization and closeout, maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
• Serve as the primary client contact during kickoffs, job walks, progress meetings, and project reviews, building lasting utility relationships.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, establish baselines, monitor critical path activities, and address schedule risks and variances.
• Own project budgets, job cost structures, cost forecasting, and financial reporting, linking progress to financial results.
• Manage subcontractor coordination, negotiate terms, and develop change orders with pricing and justification for client review.
• Coordinate with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain accountability.
• Anticipate risks, implement corrective actions, and communicate performance to clients and leadership.
