Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking a Substation Project Manager (Engineering) to lead the design and execution of substation projects for utilities, renewable developers, data centers, and large industrial clients in the Power Delivery Division.

You will supervise a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, and drafters, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating with clients and internal teams throughout planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in substation design, engineering, and project management of high-voltage substation projects (69kV to 500kV).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, procurement, and delivery of substation projects from initiation to completion.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensure client expectations are met.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and drafters to meet milestones and quality standards.
• Oversee protective relaying equipment design, substation layouts, and protection/control schemes.
• Serve as primary client contact, providing technical updates and resolving issues.
• Ensure design documentation and site drawings meet industry codes, standards, and internal procedures.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
• Continuously assess and improve project processes for on-time, within-budget delivery.
