Job summary

Haskell is seeking a Substation Project Manager (Engineering) to lead the design and delivery of high-voltage substations and switchyards for diverse clients, including utilities, renewables, data centers, and industrials.

The role combines advanced engineering expertise with strong leadership to manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensure safety and quality, and meet schedule and budget targets across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or the ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in substation design, engineering, and project management of high-voltage substation projects (69kV to 500kV)

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, procurement, and delivery of substation projects from initiation to completion, managing timelines and budgets.
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to meet milestones and quality standards.
• Oversee design and procurement of protective relaying equipment, substations layouts, and protection/control schemes.
• Act as primary client contact, providing technical updates and resolving issues during the project lifecycle.
• Ensure documentation quality, adherence to codes and standards, and review/delivery of final reports and drawings.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
• Improve project processes and explore innovative methods to enhance outcomes and efficiency.
• Prepare and review SOW documents, technical specs, and procurement packages for substation projects.
