Job summary

Qualus seeks a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to lead design of high‑voltage substations and mentor junior engineers. You will ensure code‑compliant solutions and drive technical excellence across projects from concept through construction.

The role supports remote work within the United States and preferred hybrid schedules near office locations. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in Substation Protection & Control design.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design protection and control systems for substations per codes and standards.
• Create diagrams, schematics, wiring and interconnection layouts.
• Develop relay protection schemes and control philosophies.
• Produce equipment specifications and cost estimates for procurement.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
• Lead client meetings and site visits to gather data and present solutions.
