Job summary
E2 Consulting Engineers, LP seeks an experienced Substation Design Lead to head a P&C design team for protection and control projects for a major Southern California utility. Responsibilities include one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and BOM, reporting to the Substation Engineering Manager.
The ideal candidate has an ABET-accredited EE degree, 10+ years in substation design, strong QA/QC, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Bluebeam/MicroStation; California utility experience is
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-approved program.
- 10+ years of experience in substation design or similar with utility or consulting firm.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience performing quality reviews of substation engineering drawing packages.
Responsibilities
- Lead substation P&C design team, including field notes, drawings, specifications, estimates, staffing plans and schedules.
- Serve as technical lead for P&C projects from concept to detailed engineering.
- Assign tasks and coordinate workload among engineers and designers.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of engineering packages to ensure quality.
