Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Substation Design Engineer to deliver electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, wiring, and bill of materials for a major utility client. You will perform physical design tasks, calculations, and coordination with lead engineers across project phases.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (ABET) with 8+ years of substation experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation and MS Office, and strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• Required degree in electrical engineering and ABET accreditation.
• 8+ years in substation design or equivalent with utility or consulting firms.
• Proficient with MS Office; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design substation deliverables including diagrams, wiring, and BOMs.
• Perform self-checks to ensure quality before review by Lead Engineer.
• Create CAD/CA drawings with accuracy and minimal errors.
• Conduct conduit, bus sizing, lighting, and grounding analyses.
• Ensure designs meet client and industry standards; coordinate with team.
• Attend site meetings and respond to RFIs during construction.
