E2 Consulting Engineers, LP in Pasadena is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality substation design and engineering services for a major Southern California utility.

The role oversees design deliverables, budgets, schedules, and staffing, ensuring code compliance and technical excellence while supporting business development through proposals and client presentations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
10+ years in substation engineering and design, incl. 3+ years in supervision.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design tools.
Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the substation engineering design team (electrical P&C and Physical design).
Monitor project schedules and budgets to meet department goals.
Manage staffing, recruiting and performance evaluations.
Conduct design reviews and correct engineering documents and BOMs.
Provide technical guidance to the design team on substation projects.
Coordinate with PM, clients, utilities, sub-contractors and construction teams.
Support proposals, scope development and client presentations.
Promote safety culture and adherence to IEEE, NESC, NEC.
Perform other duties as assigned.
