Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for detailed design on utility-scale and distributed energy projects, including solar PV, BESS, wind, and more. You will work on substations, collection systems, and integration into the grid within a collaborative project team.

Qualifications include a BS in Electrical Engineering with ≥6 years in utilities/renewables, strong power systems knowledge, and a PE license in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with at least six years of utility, energy systems, or renewable energy experience.
• Strong knowledge of power systems, grid operations, and utility infrastructure; experience with solar PV, wind, and battery storage.
• Experience developing, designing, and checking detailed design drawings and documents for high voltage substations.
• Based in the US with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficient with industry tools and software used for analysis and design.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design for generation, transmission, and distribution, including substations for solar, wind, and BESS.
• Review substation and collection system designs.
• Contribute to EPC RFP processes and equipment specifications.
• Outline initial design concepts for substations and oversee detailed design work (layouts, single-line diagrams, grounds, protection, wiring, cable schedules, raceways, BOM).
• Draft technical specifications for electrical components to meet customer needs and standards.
• Evaluate vendor proposals, specs, and drawings.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, transmission, and system studies; perform design development and analysis.
• Ensure projects are completed on time within budget and quality objectives.
