Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead substation design for utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects nationwide. The hybrid role supports flexible office locations with in-person onboarding and travel as needed.

You will develop design basis, supervise single line diagrams, mentor staff, and ensure QA/QC across multiple projects, driving high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of direct substation engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license is required or by comity.
• Experience managing complex multidisciplinary tasks and teams.
• Strong leadership and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development of substation design for utility-scale projects.
• Lead cross-discipline coordination and QA/QC across teams.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership.
• Prepare studies and supervise relay settings and protection schemes.
• Support project construction and commissioning activities.
