Job summary

David Evans and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to support utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects across the United States. You will develop substation design deliverables and collaborate with senior engineers to advance project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering is required.
• 4-8 years' experience in substation protection & control or physical design is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Responsibilities

• Create and oversee substation design deliverables from preliminary through IFC plan sets, including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring, and grounding.
• Perform engineering calculations such as bus sizing and cable sizing.
• Coordinate with project manager and multidisciplinary teams to support project execution.
• Assist with preparation of technical studies (short circuit, grounding, arc flash, etc.).
• Perform QA/QC reviews of junior engineers’ work and incorporate feedback from senior engineers.
• Provide support during construction phases, including RFI responses and submittal review.
