Job summary

Talent With Heart seeks a traveling HV substation technician able to test, troubleshoot and commission LV–HV equipment up to 765 kV across the Midwest. This home-based role requires frequent travel with per diem and overtime; strong field skills are essential to ensure reliability for utility and industrial customers.

Candidates should have hands-on substation experience (69–345 kV), NETA Level II–IV preferred, and a valid driver's license. Willingness to travel up to 100% is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience (69–345 kV) with relays, breakers, transformers and controls.
• NETA Level II–IV preferred; uncertified techs will be considered.
• Military power-production training is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units up to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
