Job summary

H.T. Prof Executive Search is seeking a Senior Field Technician to support substations across the Midwest. This traveling role tests and maintains equipment from LV to 765 kV and requires high-voltage field experience with utility and industrial customers.

You will test switchgear, transformers, and GIS, troubleshoot control schemes, and travel up to 100% with per diem. NETA Level II–IV is preferred; military power-production training is a plus. Full-time direct hire with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience with 69–345 kV.
• Experience with relays, breakers, transformers and controls.
• NETA Level II–IV preferred; uncertified techs considered.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units up to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets, and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
