Job summary

Connectly Recruiting seeks a traveling field technician to test, troubleshoot and commission high-voltage substations across the Midwest. Role involves hands-on work on LV through 765 kV systems, SF6 breakers, GIS and transformers, with per diem and overtime when traveling.

Candidates should have NETA Level II–IV and relevant military power-training is a plus; willing to travel up to 100% with a valid license and clean driving record. Full benefits and 401(k) match offered.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience (69–345 kV) with relays, breakers, transformers and controls.
• NETA Level II–IV preferred; strong uncertified techs considered.
• Military power-production training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units up to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets (Doble M4000 class or similar), and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
