Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a traveling field technician to test and maintain high-voltage substation equipment across the Midwest. The role is home-based with travel to client sites, up to 100%, and pays hourly wage with overtime and per diem.

You will test LV through HV systems up to 765 kV, switchgear, breakers, transformers, and test sets; NETA Level II–IV preferred and a valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation experience (69–345 kV) with relays, breakers, transformers and controls.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units up to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets, and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
