Job summary

Your Talent Team is seeking traveling field technicians to test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV substation equipment across the Midwest, with home-based options near Chicago, Springfield IL, Madison, or Green Bay WI. This full-time role requires up to 100% travel, per diem, and overtime.

You will work with HV test sets, inspect breakers and transformers, and verify control schemes. NETA Level II–IV or military power training is preferred.

Qualifications

• HV testing and commissioning of LV through HV systems up to 765 kV.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers up to large power units.
• Run HV test sets and verify cable installations.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers, from small units up to large power transformers.
• Run power factor and other HV test sets (Doble M4000 class or similar).
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
