Job summary

Eden Capital Careers is seeking a traveling field technician to test and commission high-voltage substation equipment across the Midwest. The role requires hands-on HV experience, NETA certification (II–IV preferred), and willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.

You will test up to 765 kV systems, inspect transformers, switchgear, GIS, and perform specialized HV diagnostics while maintaining safety and reliability for utility customers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation and HV testing experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% with per diem.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Military power-production training is a plus.
• NETA certification preferred (II–IV).

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot and commission LV through HV systems, up to 765 kV.
• Test switchgear and breakers, including SF6 gas breakers and GIS.
• Inspect, test and repair transformers of various sizes.
• Run HV test sets and test cable installations.
• Commission and troubleshoot control and transfer schemes.
