The role requires advanced technical leadership, field reporting, and coordination with engineers and project managers. Travel to substations and power facilities is expected, with strong emphasis on safety and quality control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical school or associate degree in electrical technology or related field preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical theory, power systems, and substation apparatus applications.
• Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in substation apparatus testing or related field work.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead field execution and mentor technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead advanced testing, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of substation apparatus.
• Lead commissioning activities for new or upgraded substation equipment and ensure compliance with project specs and standards.
• Analyze test results, diagnose equipment issues, and develop corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed field reports and documentation to meet customer requirements.
• Travel to job sites, supervise field crews, and promote safety on-site.
