Quanta Government Solutions seeks an Engineering Project Manager – Substation to lead technically, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and oversee design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of critical substation projects.

You will report to the Engineering Director, drive risk management, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and collaborate with clients and partners to deliver safe, reliable grid infrastructure and long‑term energy resilience.

Formación

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing engineering duties or management for high voltage projects.
• P.E. license is preferred.
• Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, or electrical engineering with deep understanding of engineering principles.
• Knowledge of utility industry processes including scheduling, contracts, coordinating, and managing all disciplines.
• Excellent business acumen and ability to develop, manage and control project estimates.
• Experience supporting external customers and collaboration with clients and partners.
• Ability to interpret internal and external business issues and mitigate risk.

Responsabilidades

• Strategically collaborate with engineering and operational leadership on technical goals and oversee engineering work.
• Act as a technical lead during conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, construction and closeout phases.
• Define engineering scope, deliverables, assumptions, and technical requirements for each project.
• Manage the performance of engineering partners, including KPI reviews with senior leadership.
• Facilitate design reviews, constructability reviews, and coordination meetings; identify risks early.
• Ensure internal technical documentation and standards are upheld to meet requirements.
• Develop and implement training strategies to elevate the substation team's proficiency.
• Support business development by participating in client meetings, proposals, and planning.
• Drive work with Quanta Engineering and Construction Operating Units.
• Promote innovation and efficiency in engineering processes and adopt new technologies.
