Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior engineering leader to manage and grow a project team focused on high voltage substations design, modification, and analysis in North America. The role directs engineering and design from concept through detailed design execution, field support, and closeout, while ensuring client satisfaction and project profitability.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering BS required or advanced management degree
• 20+ years in multi-discipline design for utility substations
• 5+ years leading an engineering design team
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards
• Willing to travel to project sites and client meetings
• Experience with MISO facility studies and DPP process

Responsibilities

• Direct the Team Lead in coordinating engineering and design from concept through detailed design execution, field support and closeout.
• Support account management and client engagement to ensure satisfaction and profitability.
• Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate facility studies for various RTOs.
• Coordinate systems design activities to meet client requirements and standards.
• Prepare reports and studies that present technical information clearly for clients and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and drawings.
