Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary project team focused on design, modification, and analysis of high voltage substations. You will guide engineers and designers from concept to detailed design, provide field support, and engage with clients to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will oversee project execution, manage budgets and schedules, and liaise with clients and internal teams. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Strong project management experience in utility transmission/substation projects.
• Proven lead of engineering design teams through all project phases.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a project team of engineers and designers in high voltage substations.
• Investigate and implement solutions to expand and modernize the electric grid.
• Direct coordination from concept through detailed design and field support.
• Support account management and client engagement with reporting and coordination.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate and execute facility studies for various RTOs.
• Prepare reports that meet client requirements and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work and drawings.
