Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager/Team Lead to lead the technical team and deliver high‑voltage substation projects up to 500 kV. You will partner with a Project Manager on scope, schedule, and client management while guiding engineers and designers.

This role requires a PE license, a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, and 10+ years of design experience. You will contribute to quality control, mentoring, and business growth across multiple HDR offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and PE license.
• Ten years of high‑voltage design experience for substations up to 500 kV.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with IEEE/ANSI design standards and HQ/field collaboration.
• Willingness to travel and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead a technical team and manage project deliverables.
• Develop and implement project execution plans for technical scope.
• Provide guidance, assign tasks, and mentor engineers.
• Support scope, schedule and budget through QA/QMS processes.
• Coordinate multi‑location teams and participate in reviews.
