Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Sr Substation Engineer in the New Albany, OH area for a fully remote role. You will develop scopes, review drawings, and lead substation projects with minimal direction, collaborating with in-house and client engineers. Training and guidance to junior staff are expected.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a PE license, and a Master’s degree counts toward experience. Salary range and benefits apply; remote work and travel duties included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution will count toward years of experience.
• A PE License is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, one-line diagrams, and estimates for substation projects.
• Review substation construction drawings and verify compliance with codes and standards.
• Engineer and design lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement and repair for substations.
• Make changes to drawings and documentation as needed.
• Verify proper use of equipment and material according to project documentation standards.
• Ensure material and equipment are ordered and delivered on time.
• Travel to project sites for walk downs and information gathering.
• Function as a project lead for substation projects.
• Lead, coordinate, and train others to complete substation projects.
• Identify and initiate corrective action when objectives are not met.
• Interpret codes and develop construction standards.
