Job summary

WSP is seeking a Substation Lead Specialist Electrical Designer for our Columbus/New Albany, OH office. The role involves on-site, hybrid, or remote work depending on location and business needs.

You will provide technical design, CADD support, and oversight to produce designs and specifications for planning, transportation and infrastructure lines. Lead drafting tasks and coordinate with engineers to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Post-education experience in drafting and design support with strong technical background.
• Advanced knowledge of drafting principles, practices, processes and techniques.
• Familiarity with codes, regulations and record-keeping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical design and CADD support for multi-site projects.
• Develop and substantiate design phase deliverables: reports, plans, profiles, details, lists.
• Ensure designs meet quality, standards and code requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve design discrepancies and refine drawings.
• Lead and guide drafting staff on technical assignments as needed.
• Prepare multiple design versions for review by engineers.
• Maintain quality control and document project progress and issues.
• Coordinate with client/contractor personnel on drafting reviews.
• Travel to client sites for project support.
