Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking a Supervising Substation Engineer based in Portland, ME to lead engineering teams on multiple substations, ensuring quality, schedule, and profitability.

You will oversee design teams, coordinate with construction and procurement, and ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards. A PE license and 15+ years in electrical power are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with ability to obtain license within one year where required.
• Minimum 15 years in the electrical power industry with substations experience.
• Experience leading multi-discipline design teams of engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Deep knowledge of 138 kV+ substation components and functions.
• Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate across departments and management.
• Willingness to travel for project needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee profitability, quality, and schedule for engineering teams on multiple projects.
• Coordinate design and construction efforts with procurement and construction to meet milestones.
• Assign projects based on requirements and personnel availability.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Track schedules and budgets to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Mentor project teams and coordinate with stakeholders across functions.
