Job summary

Dashiell, a leading national provider of electrical infrastructure services, seeks a Substation Engineer to lead design teams in Portland, ME. You will oversee schedule, quality, and profitability of multiple projects, coordinating with construction and procurement and applying NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards.

Requires 15+ years in power engineering, PE license, and strong leadership. Travel and office-based work in Portland, ME are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license and ability to obtain licensure within one year.
• Minimum of 15 years in electrical power, with substation design experience.
• Experience supervising design teams of engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Extensive knowledge of 138 kV+ substations, AC/DC fundamentals, and three-phase systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and profitability objectives.
• Supervise multiple project teams for on-time completion of projects.
• Assign projects to engineering teams based on requirements and personnel availability.
• Coordinate engineering with construction and procurement to meet milestones.
• Ensure teams use project standards and progress efficiently.
• Communicate with customers, teams, and management as needed.
• Prepare and track project schedules and budgets within budget.
• Apply engineering software for grid design, coordination, sizing, short-circuit and load-flow studies.
• Perform project engineering and design as needed to meet schedules.
• Ensure teams apply NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI standards.
• Maintain document management system and ownership of work.
