Actalent is seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to lead engineering and design efforts for electric utility substations, focusing on physical substation design and Protection & Control interfaces. The role involves acting as Lead Engineer or Reviewer, coordinating across disciplines, and delivering high-quality design packages.

The position requires substantial hands-on experience, strong knowledge of standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC), and a track record of mentoring engineers.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license with the ability to obtain licensure in additional jurisdictions as required.
• Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in electric utility substation engineering and design.
• Experience as Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineer of Record or senior reviewer on substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of physical substation design and P&C interfaces.
• Familiarity with NESC, IEEE, ANSI and NEC standards.

Mansioni

• Lead and perform engineering and detailed design for electric utility substations with focus on physical substation engineering and P&C integration.
• Serve as Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineer of Record, or senior technical reviewer for utility substation projects.
• Oversee substation projects including greenfield/brownfield developments, expansions, and upgrades.
• Develop and refine physical substation designs including layout, grounding, bus, and cable systems.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, specifications, and complete design packages.
• Apply QA/QC procedures and engineering standards across projects.
• Coordinate interfaces between physical substation engineering, P&C, civil/structural, and construction teams.
• Identify technical risks and provide sound engineering recommendations.
• Mentor and develop engineers and designers; support growth of the team.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to internal teams and clients.
• Ensure designs comply with utility standards and industry codes.
