Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Substation Engineer - P&C to design high-voltage substations and renewable interconnections.

You will apply NESC, NEC, IEEE, and NERC PRC standards to produce diagrams, schematics, and protection settings, with PE stamping responsibility. In this role you will guide engineers across disciplines, lead client discussions, manage scope and risk, and contribute to proposals and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 6+ years in substation protection and control.
• Lead engineering teams across multiple projects.
• Strong knowledge of NESC/NEC/IEEE/NERC PRC.
• Proficient in protection analysis and relay coordination tools; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation protection and control scope across projects.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and PE stamping.
• Guide engineers and designers to ensure standard application.
• Coordinate across disciplines for full integration.
• Lead client communications and technical strategy.
• Identify scope gaps and drive resolutions.
• Support proposals, estimates, and change orders.
• Monitor project performance and client satisfaction.
• Oversee QA/QC of P&C deliverables.
• Mentor staff in protection and control practices.
• Support procurement and construction activities.
• Drive improvements to tools and methods.
