Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer to join a project team focused on detailed electrical design and project management for high voltage substations. You will contribute to concept development, planning, execution, and client communications, with opportunities to travel to client sites as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering and has 3+ years of experience in MV power systems, along with strong organizational, communication, and design-review skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering program.
• 3+ years experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budgets and timelines.
• Experience tracking project information such as schedules and expenditures and preparing status reports.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.
• Support challenging assignments that involve investigating, troubleshooting, and solving electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports presenting technical and project information meeting client requirements and S&L formats.
• Develop career through peer-learning via Communities of Practice.
• Occasionally travel to client sites as needed.
