Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to lead MV power systems design and project execution in a hybrid work environment. You will engage in conceptualization, planning, and solving complex electrical engineering challenges, while preparing client-ready reports and coordinating across teams.

The role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and ongoing professional development, with potential travel to client sites and a relocation package depending on location.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree.
• 5+ years of experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
• Experience tracking project information such as schedules and expenditures against budgets, preparing status reports and client interface.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• ABET accreditation and a degree from an ABET-accredited program are valued.
• 3+ years of experience in the design of substations 138kV+ and related calculations may be beneficial.
• AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.
• Support challenging assignments involving investigating, trouble‑shooting, and solving electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports presenting technical and project information to meet client requirements and SL formats.
• Develop career through peer-learning via Communities of Practice.
• Occasional travel to client sites as needed.
