Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to lead design and project management for high voltage substation projects in a hybrid work environment. You will collaborate with engineers and designers, plan projects, and ensure timely, within-budget execution.

Responsibilities include system design, reports, and client interface, with opportunities to travel to client sites. A BS Engineering degree and 7+ years MV power systems experience are required.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree.
• 7 or more years experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
• Experience tracking project information such as: schedules and expenditures against budgets, preparing status reports and client interface.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.
• Work on challenging assignments that involve investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports presenting technical and project information to meet client requirements and S&L formats.
• Develop career through peer-learning and Communities of Practice within S&L.
• Travel to client sites as needed.
