Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer for our US offices in Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, and Overland Park. A hybrid or in-office setup is preferred, with remote consideration for proven experience.

You will contribute to the design, development, and construction of substations and protection & control systems. You will work on projects spanning 15kV–345kV, up to 500kV, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in power transmission and distribution design.
• Engineer in Training certification required.
• Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, codes, regulations and safety standards.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Design and construct high-voltage substations from 15kV to 345kV.
• Analyze data and prepare procurement packages.
• Review third-party design documents and project plans.
• Develop physical layouts and protection and control systems.
• Produce technical reports and visualizations.
• Support cross-functional project teams and ensure safety compliance.
• Travel may be required.
• Contribute to development of small- to medium-sized projects.
