Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to contribute to high and extra high voltage substation projects. The role involves creating detailed drawings and integrating vendor data while adhering to client standards.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with some in-office work and remote work flexibility. Candidates should have extensive drafting experience and proficiency in CAD tools to visualize complex assemblies in 3D.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Drafting or a high school diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare substation drawings: General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views, BOM, Shielding, Grounding, Conduit/Connections, Below Grade Conduit/Raceway, and Building plans/sections.
• Interpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverables.
• Perform walkdowns at client facilities.
• Apply Client's standards related to the work.
