Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Designer to work in a team with engineers and designers on high and extra high voltage substation projects. Responsibilities include producing a range of substation drawings and plans, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to client standards.

The role emphasizes 3D visualization, drafting, and the integration of vendor information into design deliverables, with hybrid work options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of substation physical design experience.
• Associate's Degree in Drafting or a high school diploma with 2+ years drafting coursework or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD aid.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Substation General Arrangement drawings.
• Create Substation Electrical Equipment Plans.
• Draft Substation Section Views (Elevations).
• Develop Substation Grounding Plan.
• Produce Substation Conduit, Electrical Connection and Grounding Details.
• Prepare Substation Below Grade Conduit/Raceway Plan.
• Detail Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, Lighting, Grounding Plans and Sections.
