Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior 3D Substation Physical Designer to join a project team that delivers high and extra high voltage substation designs. You will generate 3D models and detailed drawings, integrating vendor data and following IEEE standards.

The role supports a hybrid work schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work, and requires at least 10 years of 3D drafting and substation experience. Strong CAD and 3D visualization skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting or engineering technology, or 5+ years of 3D drafting experience.
• Minimum 10 years of 3D substation modeling and design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D work with AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro, and SDS.
• Able to visualize in 3D and layout equipment per IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models for high/extra high voltage substations with minimal guidance.
• Produce GA, equipment plans, sections, BOM, and schedules using Inventor, AutoCAD, P4A, SDS.
• Interpret vendor information and perform client walkdowns at substations.
