Job summary

Black & Veatch's VDDS team seeks a Senior Engineering Technician to support physical substation design, including plans, layouts and grounding. You will create 2D/3D deliverables using Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit, under minimal supervision, collaborating with engineers and designers on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Typically 11+ years of related work experience.
• Degree in drafting or engineering design tech required or preferred.
• Experience with substation design and related software tools.
• Ability to mentor and lead junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a senior engineering technician and design specialist.
• Create, modify, and maintain 2D/3D substation design drawings.
• Ensure designs meet codes, standards, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide guidance and oversight to other technicians and engineers.
• Coordinate with discipline teams to exchange design information.
