Job summary

Black & Veatch invites a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to join the Substation & Transmission team. The role focuses on physical substation design, equipment layouts, and 2D/3D deliverables using Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit.

Working in a hybrid environment, you will collaborate with engineers to meet budgets, schedules, and quality requirements, delivering constructible designs and supporting field activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Associate/Bachelor level engineering design qualifications.
• Experience with substation design and 2D/3D deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a senior engineering technician and design specialist.
• Creates, edits, and maintains technical drawings using CAD/BIM tools.
• Provides training and oversight to other technicians.
• Ensures deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Reviews design inputs to ensure alignment and consistency.
• Performs design calculations and material takeoffs.
