Job summary
Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician - Physical Substation Designer to support the design and delivery of high‑voltage substations. You will develop equipment layouts, grounding plans, raceway designs, and construction packages, collaborating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
The role emphasizes creating 2D/3D deliverables using Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit, under minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
- Ability to develop and deliver detailed engineering drawings and models.
- Experience with substation equipment layouts, grounding and raceway design is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a senior engineering technician and design specialist.
- Creates, modifies, and maintains technical documentation and drawings.
- Provides guidance to other technicians to ensure quality and compliance.
- Reviews design inputs and ensures deliverables meet codes and standards.
- Coordinates with engineers and project teams to deliver constructible designs.
- May lead process improvements and coordinate with other design groups.
