Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Senior Electrical Engineering Technician – Physical Substation Designer to support high-voltage substation design, including equipment layouts, grounding, conduit, and raceway design.

Using Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit, you will develop 2D/3D deliverables with attention to budgets, schedules, and quality. Requires 11+ years experience and related degrees; ESOP and flexible work options are available.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in engineering design related technology required or preferred.
• Must be proficient with CAD/BIM tools and engineering drawing practices.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a senior engineering technician and design specialist.
• Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges.
• Creates and maintains 2D/3D substation deliverables using CAD/BIM tools.
• Reviews design inputs and ensures compliance with codes and standards.
• Mentors other technicians and coordinates with project teams.
