Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP in Pasadena, California seeks a senior engineer to lead a substation physical design team for a major electric utility project. You will oversee general arrangement drawings, electrical plans, conduit layouts, relay house design, and BOM coordination from concept through detailed engineering.

Candidates will have a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET) with 10+ years in substation design, strong AutoCAD/MicroStation skills, QA/QC experience, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years in substation design or similar with utilities/consulting.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of substation systems up to 500 kV and protection and control.

Responsibilities

• Lead a substation physical design team and coordinate tasks.
• Serve as physical design technical lead from concept to detailed engineering.
• QA/QC reviews of engineering drawings by junior engineers.
• Communicate with project manager, client and others as needed.
• Ensure designs conform to client/industry standards.
