Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Substation Engineer to join the Pasadena team to support a major electric utility client. You will design substation deliverables, prepare CAD drawings, and perform engineering calculations under the supervision of a Lead Engineer.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET) and 5–8 years in substation design. Preference for PE and experience with SCE, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of substation design experience with utility or consulting firm.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design substation deliverables including drawings, BOMs, and elevations.
• Self-check work to ensure quality before Lead Engineer review.
• Prepare CAD drawings with accuracy and clarity for complex facilities.
• Perform conduit, bus sizing, lighting, and grounding calculations.
• Ensure designs conform to client and industry standards.
• Coordinate project activities with lead engineer or project manager.
• Track design activities using client/company information systems.
• Participate or lead site meetings and RFIs during construction.
